This is the second book in the Hullabaloo Zoo series
When everyone goes home at the end of the day and the gates of Hullabaloo Zoo close, the animals have some very interesting adventures.
Lonely Lionel the chameleon is feeling very unhappy. All the animals in the zoo have lots of friends, but they all seem to ignore him.
Meanwhile Percival the emperor of the penguins is trying to find the winner of a very fancy trophy. Perhaps if Lionel joins him he can make some friends along the way.

I really liked this book - not only are the characters engaging and varied, the book theme tugs you along and makes you want to find out what happens to the characters. The author uses different types of drawing (from cartoon-ish to strikingly realistic) to draw you into the story. Both adults and children will like this book - I don't think you'd get bored of reading it with its peek-a-boo illustrations (animals hiding in the backgrounds) and its simple yet compelling storyline - sure to be a favourite at bedtime!
